A Closer Look at Our Faith
Faith is one of the greatest gifts that we can ever receive from God. It is something that we cannot produce on our own. It will take God’s confirmation of our belief or positive thinking; this is based on the words of God that shape our faith. That’s what makes faith a very delicate and sensitive type of all our professions. In order to realize it, a form of partnership must take place between us and God. We submit to God all our ideas, thoughts, our plans. Providing the ideas of our dreams is our part, while God’s part is to confirm it according to His will. God can be exactly what we want Him to become according to His will.
Every type of belief we have with God brings about so many benefits such as salvation for our souls, physical and spiritual blessings, joy, peace, and satisfaction and many more. This is the reason why our faith is being tested every now and then. In order to ensure its integrity, stability, and truthfulness, God allows all types of testing for us to test our faith. This happens to ensure that our faith is functioning well and according to God’s will. This is imperative to make sure that it is faith and not just a show of our man-made ideas or expression of our positive thinking alone. This is necessary because the Bible said in Jeremiah 17:9 that our heart is deceitful ... and who can know it? Our heart is the place where God checks the integrity of our faith and because of its nature, God allows these trials to happen. Our response to this is to continue to hold on to what we believe in and continue to be faithful. Whether it be service to God or personal conviction, let us keep it faithful, and the God of peace and joy will sanctify us wholly and shall keep us from turning back.
