Agape Love
There are three kinds of love in the world today. One is “pheleo” and it is defined as brotherly love, the kind of love you can give to all people. It is also a give and take kind of love. When the cycle breaks, it waivers and eventually loses its power in us. The kind of love demands mutual understanding in order to become successful. The second kind of love is “erros” and is defined as a sexual type of love. This is the kind of love you can only give to your spouse and not to anybody else because it involves sexual relationship. When it is given to someone other than your spouse, one commits the sin of fornication or adultery, an abomination before God. The third kind of love is “agape,” a Godly love, which is defined as giving without expecting something in return. This is God’s love. This is the kind of love that God wants us to understand and seek after.
Agape love is the result of communing and fellowshipping with God on a regular basis. There is nothing in this world that can teach us this love except the power of the Holy Spirit. As God’s children, He showed us this kind of love to gain advantage in everything in this world. Having this kind of love will keep all relationships in tact, especially with the one we have with God. This kind of love enables us to reach out without fear and reconcile with God without any hesitation and procrastination. Agape love is the atmosphere in heaven, if we desire to enter that everlasting place, we need to have this kind of love here on earth. My brothers and sisters, God wants us to make this love the atmosphere of our fellowship, that is why we need to regularly commune with God and seek the help of the Holy Spirit in order to experience this kind of love. It is the greatest love of all.
