Called to Become a Child of God
"But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the children of God. Even them that believed on His name."
John ch. 1 v. 12.
To be a child of God is the greatest identity of all. Greater than anything that we can accomplish in this world. It is greater than our career, our acquired wealth, and whatever status we have in our society today. To become a child of God is God's gift to all those who will receive (recognize) Him as Savior and Lord of their lives. It makes God's promises a living reality, it makes salvation and heaven the blessed hope of the redeemed. To be a child of God make an individual, regardless of color and race a recipient and beneficiary of all God's blessings and becoming a member of God's household. Someone who has the authority to use the power of God's name for the glory of God. To become a child of God, makes one individual a beneficiary of everlasting life in heaven.
How to become a child of God? It is so simple and profound, because one must sincerely recognize Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of his life and living life as a child of God. Of course, it involves abandoning the wicked ways and old sinful ways of life, and embracing a new life style which is fit for a child of God and is based on God's instruction through the words of God. In return, God promised living this kid of life brings the joy, the peace, and satisfaction the world has never known before. To be a child of God is our victorious life here on earth.
