Giving Unto the Lord

Giving unto the Lord is the sign of our undying love and devotion to God. As we know, we can give without loving but impossible to love without giving. How much more when we know what God has done for us, His undying love for us, His grace that was abundantly given that made us become members of His household. The brand new life that He has given us everyday, the brand new day that is full of many opportunities and on top of that is the great salvation that He unconditionally provided. Oh what an amazing grace that is! And what can we give in return as a token of our deepest gratitude. Do you know that God expects us to give? Yes, by giving our time, or talent or our treasure, these three are the expression of lives. God wants us to sincerely give a portion of these things by way of obedience to His words and thru forms of devotions that we do for God. He loves to see the demonstration of our talent at work for His glory. This is anything that we can do based on our skill and our abilities. He wants you to incorporate it with your daily service to Him. God loves to see us allocating time to our devotions such as our daily prayers, studying of God’s words, attending fellowship and most specially reaching out to someone as a witness for the Lord Jesus Christ. Remember, He only asks a portion of our time, not all of it. We must utilize it to fulfill the purpose of our lives.

Finally, He expects us to give financially to honor Him and as a form of obedience to His words. There are two biblical ways of giving in the bible that God wants us to do. First, is tithing and it means giving a tenth of our increase. This is giving as a form of worship, or giving God honor thru our substance. The word of God has declared that giving unto the lord is the secret of our blessings. This is also our way of financing the work of God until He comes. This is also our testimony that we are the children of God because we give unto the Lord. So let us give cheerfully and not in a wrong spirit, for if we give unto the Lord, He will open opportunities of blessings for all of us. God bless you all.
