Ambassador for Christ

Looking Unto Jesus

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your hands. Hebrews 12:2-3

I welcome you all to our fellowship today. This is the day that the Lord hath made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. My prayer for you is that you will receive what you came for in the fellowship. Whatever your expectation is, it will happen to you today. All you have to do is to be sincere and join the fellowship at the altar and pray earnestly; God will never turn His back from you but He will listen to the honesty of your heart and the words you are going to say. Amen.

Today, I would like to share a message about the suffering of Christ. Not just about the reality of what really happened, but how much He really suffered. In the verses here as our reference, there are two phrases of words that are really mind boggling to me. These are words that stop me from reading further and think about what it really means. First, was that He endured the cross. It means that experiencing suffering was His choice and that He knows exactly the purpose of it, that is to provide the ransom of our sins. It means the suffering being inflicted on Him was part of the process. The pain, the bruises, the wounds, and the stripes are part of the process He needs to ensure to provide the great salvation for the rest of the world. The other phrase was that He was despising the shame, how do we despise shame? It means putting it down, belting it, put it aside, shaking if off or telling Himself I can do this for the sake of mankind that God loves the most.

Let us look at Him and consider what He did so that whatever we do for Him in our service is something that we understand and willingly do. So that we too, will endure hardship and despise our weaknesses when it kicks in the name of the Lord. Jesus Christ did it in order to provide our salivation, we also need to do whatever it takes to keep it. God bless you all.
