Object of Our Courage
Courage is our mental or moral strength that enables us to venture, persevere and withstand our fears firmly and resolutely. This virtue is very important to us because this is what we need to overcome and be victorious in our service to God. We need to have this kind of special strength to assure our victorious. God also has given us the empowerment, even the model to look up to, in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ. As God’s children, winning our every spiritual battles is important to God.
We need the virtue of courage if we are to keep the things that we believe in today. There are so many alternatives and distractions out there. If we are not careful, all of our spiritual influences in us become no longer important. We are living in a time where there is an explosion of knowledge and ideologies based on man-made theories and preconceptions. They are attractive because they are being introduced by celebrities and popular personalities of our society. Yet, they are unstable and inconsistent. Ideologies that has no roots and integrity, and yet people are embracing it because it is new. We’ve got to have the courage to withstand this influence so that we are always worthy of our calling in Christ Jesus.
Jesus Christ is our model here, remember how the Bible explained how he endured the cross, despising the shame and was able to stop the temptation of the devil. He also used the words of God as His weapon against evil and He won! Praise the Lord! The Bible declared that we need to always look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. He is the source of our courage and the model of our patience. He is the reason why we can overcome all our trials, and if somehow we get spiritually tired and to the point of losing hope along the way, let us remember the words of Jesus and His invitation to come to Him. He is the source of our courage and we will find the resting place for our souls. God bless you all.
