Repentance
“And that repentance and remissions of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”
-Luke ch. 24 v. 47
Repentance is one of the sacraments of salvation. It is a major doctrine in the words of God. It means changing attitude towards sin. It also includes embracing the will of God into our lives and putting into subjection our carnal will under the power of the Holy Spirit. Repentance is a major step towards having a relationship with God. Any one who wants tot come to God and recognize Him as Lord and Savior must change his/her attitude towards sin. This is a very important requirement in our reconciliation with God.
Repentance is also a daily activity of the children of God. The Bible declared that they who deny that they don’t have sin decieveth themselves. It is the relative condition of our spirituality that demands a constant act of repentance in our part in order to become worthy of God’s relationship. The Bible declares that God is holy and this nature of God always demands a separation from sinners. The only way we can fellowship with God is to always come to a daily soul searching and then spiritual cleansing by the blood of Jesus Christ, this is what repentance is all about.
God’s response to our act of repentance is sure and precise. The Bible declared, that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us. Our sin and a decision to let the will of God be done in our lives. By allowing this to happen, we are allowing the blessing and anointing of God to flow and cover us. The spiritual experiences will help us make our service successful and victorious. My brothers and sisters, let us take our relationship with God very seriously by allowing ourselves to utilize this wonderful sacrament of repentance.
