Thanksgiving, God's Way
“In everything give Him thanks for this is the will of God concerning you…”
The word “thanksgiving” simply means “giving thanks.” The subject of this occasion is the goodness of God, the blessings of the Lord and His faithful intervention to mankind. This great event has great impact in the lives of the people of this nation. It was in this context that the first settlers of this great nation has devoted this day to the great God of the universe, giving Him thanks and honor for everything that He has done. Nowadays, it seems that this great event has lost its meaning in the lives of the common people. To some, it is nothing but a day without work.
Thanksgiving is showing God how grateful we are of His help. It is about telling God that we cannot make it this far without Him on our side. It is about giving God the glory for all the things that He has done for you and me. It is about you and I coming to Him, and recognizing Him as the source of everything that we are enjoying today. Church, this is what thanksgiving is about. And there is nothing that can make it acceptable to God than for you and me through our praise and worship. Let’s give Him the best, He deserves it ….
