The Beauty of Fellowship
The word "fellowship" comes from the Greek word, "koininia," which means the gathering of God's people. Fellowship is the will of God for the church. He designed it not just a gathering but a unique spiritual family. The Lord also designed fellowship as the place where people of various walks of life can have a fresh start and learn to build relationship the right way. It is also the place where people learn the value of ones company as God intended it to be since the beginning of time. It is God's way of helping us live a born-again life.
Fellowship is the world's greatest support group. A place where one can be delivered from all manners of bondage in life with the help of God. Unlike some support groups, fellowship is the group of people who already have experienced deliverance from their vices and sufferings. It is a place where one is guided by God's words in eradicating vices and sufferings. It is a place where one is guided by the Holy Spirit to live a born-again life. It is a haven of freed and victorious people.
Fellowship is also the place where our victory over the devil is being testified. A place where God commanded His blessings and gift of eternal life to dwell. It is like a huge wherehouse of God's spiritual blessings here on earth. It is the place where people with sincere hearts and devotion to God can come and get their share of God's fresh provisions. God ordained the church to be a house of refuge but He also admonished the church to maintain it. As the church of the living God, let us therefore work hand in hand to maintain it, keep it always in the center of God's will. This is our job.
