The Gospel of Jesus Christ
Paul once said, I am not ashame of the gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation. The word "gospel" means "good news." The good news of Jesus Christ's death, burial, His resurrection and His manifestation to His disciplines after He died. Paul, in his letter to the Corinthians church had taught the church to believe in the gospel for it can save them if they keep in memory what the gospel is about.
The gospel is about the Lord Jesus Christ and what He has done for us. It is about Him who died for the sin of the world, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. It is about a loving God who showed His grace and love for a lost and dying world. It is about the provision of salvation by the Lord Jesus Christ for all of us. He shed His blood to satisfy the law of God for the remission of sin. The Bible said, "Greater love hath no man when He gave His life for His friends."
The gospel is the power of God unto salvation. But for it to be applied in our lives we must believe in it, with all our hearts. The Lord has given a set of rules to be followed in order for the gospel to be applied in our lives. He said you must believe, you must repent of your sins and you must be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.
These are the things that God wants us to do in order to prove that we really believe in the gospel. The Bible said, "After you have done these things He has given you the power to become the child of God."
