Who Are the Church of the Living God?
"Upon this rock I will build my church and even the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." These were the words of Jesus Christ in describing the tremendous power of the church. Jesus Christ is the builder of the church. In the book of Colossians, the Bible said that Jesus Christ is the head of the church and the church is His mystical body. The word "church" comes from the Greek word "eclesia" which means the assembly of those who are called by God. Not only that they were called by God, they are the ones that responded to the call of God. But the million dollar question today is this, Who are the church of Jesus Christ today?
Based on how the Lord Jesus Christ described His church, the church are not just those who attend a fellowship of a Sunday service. Nor those who are sympathetic to the words of God. Or those who are on and off in their belief in God. The church are not those who resorted to their deadness of religion, thinking that religion can save them. Then who are the church of the living God?
The church of Jesus Christ first of all, are those who received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Not only that, they are the ones who repented of their sins, were baptized in the name of the Lord and experience the moving of the spirit in their life. Furthermore, the church are those who are faithful in prayer, reading the words of God, attending the fellowship of God's people, and confessing to the world around them the goodness of God in their life. Now that I have answered the question about the church, let me ask you a very personal question. Are you the church of Jesus Christ? If not, then accept Him today as your Lord and Savior and begin a new life of faithfulness with Him. God's blessings will be with you when you respond to His call. Come to Him today.
